The Sanskrit word “yuj” means to yoke - it means to join or unite.

In English, we call it YOGA.  So when you do yoga you are consciously uniting your mind, your body and your breath into the present moment.
At Red Lotus Yoga (formerly Container Collective Yoga) in Lakewood, CO we are also uniting you with an incredible community of people that hope to help you with your yoga practice (corporate, private, group lessons, yoga teacher trainings). By intelligently sequencing poses (called “asanas” in Sanskrit) inspired by the Baptiste yoga/traditional yoga methodology, we allow all of the parts of your body and mind to open up to new possibilities while building strong and supple muscles regardless of your starting point with the practice!
Like the lotus flower we are a community for unification, purification, spiritual awakening and abundance. The red lotus in particular is associated with the heart, the center for love and compassion. Just as the lotus flower emerges from the murky waters each morning, pure and radiant, the Lakewood, Colorado community members find transformation in the same way.

Welcome to your Introduction to Power Yoga!

Your commitment of 30 minutes a day for 7 days is going to positively impact every area of your life!

Picture
Power Yoga is a physical, mental and emotional practice that includes:
  1. Asana- the shapes you make on your mat
  2. Meditation- sitting in stillness
  3. Inquiry- mental exploration

The Foundations of Power Yoga program, is intended to,
-gently welcome you into the daily practice of yoga asana, meditation, inquiry
-leave you feeling strong and comfortable in life
-confident and ready to join a yoga community for our live online/in studio classes

The invitation is to start where you are and see where you go!

How do I do the program?
  1. Make a 7 day commitment.
  2. Here's what to expect:
    1. Before or shortly after you get out of bed in the morning grab your journal and follow the prompts listed below (3-5 minutes).
    2. Add 5 minutes into your morning routine to sit for a 5 minute guided meditation offered below.
    3. Schedule when in your day you will do your 20 minute physical asana yoga practice. (Maybe on your lunch break or right after work.)
What do I need?
  • 1/8" or thinner yoga mat (the thick squishy exercise mats make balancing a challenge).
  • Straight back chair
  • Journal/Journaling app (I use the Day One app)
  • Yoga Blocks and a Strap are optional and super helpful.

Empowering Flow Baptiste Yoga Classes
A fun and empowering class to invite you to safely move and stretch beyond what you thought was possible. Connect breath to movement with this dynamic sequence of postures inspired by Baron Baptiste's "Journey into Power" sequence. Performed in an order designed to stimulate your mind and body while improving strength, flexibility, and overall vitality.

Gentle/Yin Yoga Classes
It's a style that's kind of like our "in-between" for our Vinyasa Yoga & Restorative Yoga classes. We use props to aid with tightness at the beginning of a long posture hold (poses are held for a few minutes at a time in Yin Yoga.)  Also, you will be emailed which props we will use from our homes for a Yin class (ex:  2 blankets, 1 pillow, & a yoga strap or a scarf.) The idea is to use intentional breathing & to create calm in the mind to provide the body the signal that it's okay to go further into postures without the addition of Flow or Heat like in a Vinyasa Yoga class.

Restorative Yoga Classes
This class allows you time to integrate into your mind-body awareness. Full of poses that will nourish the mind and body while accessing deep relaxation and bringing the skeleton gently back to alignment.

voted Best Yoga Studio in Denver, Lakewood, Colorado
I joined the community over two years ago and it was the BEST decision I ever made. The studio is beautiful and the instructors are absolutely amazing! It is the first studio where I truly felt like part of the community. During covid, I regularly attending their virtual classes. All the classes are great and fit perfectly into my at home work schedule. I am so happy to have found them.
