Metta Meditation

May I be safe.
May I be healthy.
May I be happy and free.
May I be at peace.

May You be safe.
May You be healthy.
May You be happy and free.
May You be at peace.

May we all be safe.
May we all be healthy.
May we all be happy and free.
May we all be at peace.

Metta is from the Pali Canon (the standard collection of scriptures in the Theravada Buddhist tradition, as preserved in the Pāli language). It is the most complete extant early Buddhist canon meaning “good will” or “lovingkindness.” The Metta Prayer is designed to intentionalize good wishes and a sense of benevolence for oneself and others.
